Breaking Ground and Hitting Water: January 2025 Progress at RTBMO Basecamp

January 2025 was a milestone month for the Return To Base Missouri (RTBMO) Basecamp as we tackled two major projects (literally) laying the groundwork for future growth and comfort for our Veterans and their families.

Early in the month, Tom Reiter of R&G Hardscapes put in an incredible effort using a Bobcat to prepare a 60’ x 60’ site where two 40’ containers will anchor our long-term cabin project. This essential site work created the solid base we needed for new construction and long-term infrastructure improvements at the Basecamp.

Just days later, Mike Woolsey & Sons Well Drilling and Service arrived to drill our much-needed water well. Led by Luke Woolsey, the team navigated rugged Ozark trails and crossed two creeks to reach camp. In only two mornings of work, they hit water at 230 feet, ensuring the Basecamp will have a reliable source of fresh water to support indoor plumbing, showers, and other amenities in the near future.

A huge thank you to Tom Reiter and Woolsey & Sons Well Drilling and Service for their expertise, dedication, and patriotism. Together, we’re continuing to build a self-sustaining, comfortable haven for Veterans to reconnect with the outdoors and each other.Support ongoing improvements and future builds at www.RTBMO.org.
